He has played many roles over the years in theatres in Arlington, Belmont, Winchester, Wayland and Concord. He performed as Herr Schultz in Cabaret at Belmont, produced Kiss Me Kate for the Players, played the Coachman in John Barrett's production of On The Razzle at the Vokes; he was Father Coyne in Hogan's Goat, O'Shaughnessy in Hostage and Norfolk in A Man for All Seasons.
He admits, "I like to act. Unfortunately, I seldom get to pretend to be people who aren't old, male, somewhat obese, and unromantic. Fortunately, there seem to be a lot of roles like that." Jack has created over 50 characters in nine amateur theatres since 1966.
Since retiring, Jack has performed at Gloucester Stage and worked in commercials and independent films. He has been in four murder mystery fund raisers in Concord. In 1999 he was finally nominated for best actor at EMACT after being nominated for best supporting actor in Concord's Autograph Hound at NETC years ago.
Recently he played Mr. Noakes in Arcadia at Vokes, Woodenshoes in The Front Page at Merrimack Rep, and Carl Bolton in Morning's at Seven at Lyric Stage. Jack's a BIG fan of the EMACT competition at Brandeis and proud as Punch that Concord hosts again this Memorial Day weekend!
You may have seen him in recent commercials on TV, subliminally in Next Stop Wonderland.
