Charles Atheerton

Charles Atherton

Charlie has been active in the Concord Players for twenty years. He has acted, directed, produced, headed the make-up crew, worked on the set building crew, and served on the Board of Directors.

Charlie spent the 1970's in New York as a professional actor. His theatrical credits ran the gamut from Shakespeare to Christopher Isherwood's I Am a Camera to being a waiter at Sardi’s. He also appeared in a smattering of soap operas and in radio and TV commercials.

In Concord he returned to Shakespeare, his first love. He appeared as Sir Toby Belch in the Concord Players production of Twelfth Night and as Barnadine in the Town Cow production of Measure for Measure.

Charlie considers his blindingly sensitive performance in a Mail Pouch Chewing Tobacco commercial to be the pinnacle of his career. He is also proud to have served as a member of the National Board of Directors of the Screen Actor's Guild.
