Charles Atherton
Charlie has been active in the Concord Players for twenty five years. He has acted, directed, produced, headed the make-up crew, worked on the set building crew, and served on the Board of Directors. He has done the make-up for forty shows and won four DASH awards. Charlie spent the 1970's in New York as a professional actor. His theatrical credits ran the gamut from Shakespeare to Christopher Isherwood's I Am a Camera to being a waiter at Sardi’s. He also appeared in a smattering of soap operas and in radio and TV commercials. He appeared as Sir Toby Belch in the Concord Players production of Twelfth Night and as Bernadine in Measure for Measure with the Town Cow Players. Charlie considers his blindingly sensitive performance in a Mail Pouch Chewing Tobacco commercial to be the pinnacle of his career. He is also proud to have served as a member of the National Board of Directors of the Screen Actor's Guild. |
