Sean Kavanagh

Born to a circus family in Liverpool, England, Sean Kavanagh has the theatre in his blood. His mother and father, Joan the Bearded Lady and Big Johnny The Human Cannonball, gave him his early training in stagecraft. A promising career with the Icecapades was cut short by an unfortunate accident with a Zamboni during a production of Oh Calcutta on Ice. Now a resident of Concord and father of seventeen, Sean has had little time for theater, but now with many of the kids off to college or prison, he has decided to return to the stage with the Concord Players.

On the other hand...

A resident of Concord who originally hales from Liverpool, England, this is Sean's second Concord Players production. He played Hysterium in A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum in 1999. Over the past 7 years he has performed with the First Parish Players in the musicals Working and Is There Life After High School?. In 1998 and 1999 he directed First Parish middle-schoolers in the musical Bye Bye, Birdie and a musical version of Dickens' Christmas Carol.

As a young adult, Sean worked with the English Comedy Club and The American Theater Company in Brussels, and in the early 80's was part of a sketch comedy double act that performed around New England to critical acclaim and total financial disaster. His wife, Kate, and children Jack, Brendan, and Clare are glad to see Dad on stage because they are tired of being his only audience.
