Christopher Holownia Christopher is excited to return to the Concord Players' stage so soon after Les Misérables last November. He is a graduate of Yale University (B.A., Philosophy) and Simmons College (M.A., Teaching). While at Yale, Chris conducted the Spizzwinks and the Whiffenpoofs, regaling audiences all over the world with humor and song and producing five albums. More recently, he established the Mandarin Chinese program in the Wellesley Public Schools, and he currently teaches foreign languages at the Rivers School in Weston. He also serves as music director at St. John the Evangelist Church in Wellesley and works throughout the area as a freelance music director, voice teacher, piano teacher, and accompanist. He has worked for Turtle Lane Playhouse, Emerson College, Reagle Players, Woodland Theatre Company, the Wellesley Players, and the Weston Friendly Society. He received the North Shore Music Theater Award (Best Orchestra) for his production of Once On This Island at the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. In addition to being an avid actor and vocalist himself, Chris has directed the music for over 40 musicals, including Honk!, Into the Woods, A Little Night Music, Songs for a New World, The Last Five Years, Pirates of Penzance, Floyd Collins, Bat Boy, Children of Eden, West Side Story, Street Scene,The Wizard of Oz, Joseph…, Schoolhouse Rock Live!, Pippin, Annie, Seussical, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Merrily We Roll Along, Godspell, Willy Wonka, Urinetown, Nunsense, Oklahoma, Bye Bye Birdie, Hairspray, Oliver!, The Sound of Music, Guys and Dolls, A Chorus Line, and Les Misérables. He also performs on stage whenever he can find the time. Favorite roles include Motel in Fiddler, Bun Foo in Millie, Crumpet in The Santaland Diaries, Pellinore in Camelot, and Joseph in Joseph.... |
