Using The Prose

Our fourth session will focus on Shakespeare's prose - when it is used, why is it used, and how to think about playing it. Particular focus will be given to moments of transition between verse and prose and how to find the inherent, but variable, rhythms that are present in Shakespeare's prose, as much as his verse.

The session will be primarily focused on scene study, with an opportunity for collaborative feedback and revision. A wide-range of scenes, both comedy and otherwise, will be sent out in advance to participants. Scenes that may be utilized include:
