Susan is a professor of English/Theatre at Northern Essex Community College, where she is also the advisor to and designer for the Top Notch Players. She has also designed for Second Stage Theatre Company, Seacoast Repertory, Insight Theater, Quannapowitt Players, Arlington Friends of the Drama, and Hackmatack Playhouse She has won awards for designs from the New England Theatre Conference, the Eastern Massachusetts Association of Community Theaters, and has been nominated for an IRNE (Independent Reviewers of New England) award. She is a respondent for the American College Theater Festival. The director she most enjoys working with is her husband, Jim Murphy.
