Marianne Phinney
Marianne has a doctorate in Linguistics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. That plus three bucks enables her to coach actors in different dialects and buy a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Most recently, she coached the casts of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, Disgraced and Equus (Umbrella) and The Scarlet Pimpernel and The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Norton Singers). Past productions include New Jersey and Italian (Over the River and Through the Woods), Brooklyn (45 Seconds from Broadway), Puerto Rican/Mexican Spanish (Women without Men, Roosters), Liverpool (Educating Rita, Shirley Valentine, Black Comedy), Welsh (Look Back in Anger), American Southern (Crimes of the Heart, Steel Magnolias, Vanities), German (Black Comedy, Cabaret, Talley’s Folly), and Polish (Hunting Cockroaches). Marianne is an adjudicator for the Massachusetts Education Theatre Guild Festival and Marquee Musical Awards.
