It has been discovered that the only way to keep Katherine Engel Meifert quiet is to confine her to the orchestra pit. Blame must fall on the Crane School of Music and Boston University for encouraging her noisemaking pursuits. She has been sighted locally directing productions of The Mikado, The Gondoliers, Legally Blonde, Anything Goes, and Ruddigore. She recently escaped the pit briefly in order to sing the role of Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance for the Sudbury Savoyards, but was recaptured with minimal damage to innocent bystanders. Her interment will continue in the fall of 2014 in Carlisle, where she will frantically wave her arms for the Savoyard Light Opera Company’s production of Oklahoma! Katherine would like to thank her devoted family for frequently encouraging her to leave the house. | |||||||||
