The Concord Players Announce
Special Events for our 100th Anniversary Season

Mr. Roberts

Join us as we celebrate our 100th season of producing fantastic community theater.  The Concord Players trace their roots back to 1857 and Louisa May Alcott and her sister Anna’s small plays performed in the barn of the Wayside. In the 1870s the company became officially known as the Concord Dramatic Club and performed until 1917, when World War I curtailed entertainments. After the war, in 1919, the group re-formed as the Concord Players and have been performing at their current home at 51 Walden since 1922.  In the coming year find out more about our history and celebrate this milestone with us.

Our season is designed to follow the arc of our history beginning with Funny Girl, set in the 1910s when we first began as an organization.  The season continues in the winter with Neil Simon’s comedy, Barefoot in the Park, set in the 1960s – the Players’ “middle age.” We close the season with a more contemporary show, Steel Magnolias.

In addition to our fabulous season of shows, we’ll be celebrating throughout the year with a full calendar of events including:
