Douglas has contributed to the region’s theatre for 40 years as director, producer and designer. He is a founding member of the state theatre umbrella EMACT, having served as its president and numerous positions on its board of directors. His introduction to the Players was over 25 years ago when asked by Dorothy Schecter to design scenery for Madwoman of Chaillot. In succeeding years he’s been associated with over a dozen Players’ productions. He’s directed three productions for the Players, George Washington Slept Here, All My Sons, and this past fall Mister Roberts. Doug produced the last two musicals for the Players, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and The Drowsy Chaperone. He’s served on the Players’ Play/Director Selection Committee and was elected to the Players board this past year.
