Douglas Cooper

Douglas has contributed to the region’s theatre for 40 years as director, producer and designer. He is a founding member of the state theatre umbrella EMACT, having served as its president and numerous positions on their board of directors. Introduction to the Players was over 25 years ago when asked by Dorothy Schecter to design scenery for Madwoman of Chaillot.

In succeeding years he’s been associated with over a dozen Players’ productions. He’s directed three productions for the Players, George Washington Slept Here, All My Sons, and Mister Roberts. Doug co-produced the last three musicals for the Players, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Drowsy Chaperone and The Sound of Music. He’s served on the Players’ Play/Director Selection Committee and its board of directors. Doug is pleased to once again produce along side his good friends Pam and Tom.
