Synopsis:
Christopher is a brilliant, socially anxious fifteen-year-old with a
unique and logical mind. When he discovers his neighbor's dog, Wellington,
murdered with a pitchfork in his neighbor's yard, Christopher sets out
on a journey to investigate the crime. His investigation takes him far
outside his comfort zone, and Christopher must brave rude neighbors,
frightening strangers, and the city of London itself. Christopher's
investigation uncovers secrets about his neighbors, his father,
and his long-dead mother -- secrets that will change the course of
his family.
Our production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time takes
place in Siobhan's classroom, as the community comes together to mount a production
of Christopher's play. Christopher, Siobhan, Ed, and Judy are played (in the play
within the play) by themselves. The rest of the characters, the ensemble, are
played by members of Christopher's community: teachers, neighbors, police
officers -- trusted adults that have come together to help Christopher
tell his story.
